We serve food and drink both indoors and outdoors. Indoors we have the world famous Ritson's Bar, Residents' Bar and Abrahams Restaurant. Outdoors, at the rear of the Inn adjacent to the beck, we have the Bistro with quicker service of a slightly reduced menu and selection of drinks. Last food orders are at 9pm.
We serve a range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or requests then please feel free to contact us in advance of your visit.
The world famous Ritson's Bar and Residents' Bar provide a warm welcome for thirsty, hungry and walk-weary guests, 365 days of the year! We have new menus which can be downloaded below.
Ritson's Bar (below) is named after the first landlord, Will Ritson - huntsman, wrestler, farmer, fellsman, guide, raconteur, and the first "World's Biggest Liar". Today the bar is where everyone congregates after a day on the fells, to talk and enjoy the good wholesome bar meals and real ales. In winter most keep warm beside the log burning stove, the garden and beck-side tables gaining in popularity as the summer approaches.
The Abrahams Restaurant Dining Room (below) provides for the heartiest appetite but in a style that has won many awards, and with particular acclamation for breakfast. Service is relaxed and dress codes are informal. High standards of cuisine are maintained. Breakfast is normally only available to residents, but we will serve self-catering guests and campers by prior arrangement if space is available.
The Residents' Bar (below) provides a cosy retreat for residents, the ideal place to relax before ordering dinner or indeed for a post-prandial refresher!
We serve a range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or requests then please feel free to contact us in advance of your visit.
