The closest EV chargers
The nearest public charging option to Wasdale is at the Bower House Inn in Eskdale, which has a Tesla wall-mounted charging station for visitors. There are also EV charging points in Ravenglass, including a Pod Point charger at Ravenglass Car Park. The Lake District National Park currently lists four sockets at the car park, with 7kW charging.
For visitors exploring the area by train, the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway also has a 22kW charging point at Ravenglass station and a 7kW point at Dalegarth for Boot station.
Travelling from the South
If you’re driving to Wasdale from the south via the M6, there are plenty of rapid and ultra-rapid charging options along the motorway, making it a good opportunity to charge before heading further into West Cumbria. There is also a good selection of chargers around Ulverston, although this requires a detour from the usual route to Wasdale.
Travelling from the North
Coming from the north, you’ll find charging options from the major networks in towns including Penrith, Keswick, Cockermouth, Workington and Whitehaven.
